Tarpon Bay Tales is a weekly half-hour fishing show that offers the perfect blend of exciting action and incisive angling know-how. It centers primarily around the many saltwater fishing opportunities available in Florida and neighboring Gulf and South Atlantic waters, plus to spice things up, Tarpon Bay Tales also takes its cameras to one of the world’s fishing Mecca’s (The Bahamas, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Mexico, etc.) every season to put together a special travel episode from a more exotic destination.

While variety is important, the show’s producers firmly believe that most anglers don't just want to watch someone else have all the fun, catching fish in far away places week after week. Instead, the majority would rather learn techniques that can help them catch more fish in their local waters. Therefore, Capt. Alex Suescun, the Host and Executive Producer of Tarpon Bay Tales, always makes it a point to show effective ways and new tricks to target all the popular saltwater gamefish available in southern waters every season.

The location and the subject matter of each and every episode are always carefully selected and approached to make sure they appeal to novices and to experienced anglers of all ages. And from hot new lures to the most effective fishing tactics, all “How-to” segments are explained in detail, and illustrated with the help of close-up shots and on-screen graphics to make them more dynamic and very easy to understand.  Every episode of Tarpon Bay Tales includes 2 sponsored informational segments. The first is "FISH 'N FACTS," which covers key facts about the location and the gamefish chosen. The other is called "TACKLE TALK," and as the very name indicates, it covers recommended gear, top rigging techniques, and the most effective fishing tactics to successfully tackle a wide variety of target species.

Tarpon Bay Tales viewers also get the chance to look in on those same gamefish in their natural environment every week, as underwater cameras follow the action below the surface to add yet another great element of excitement to the show.

Tarpon, redfish, snook, and permit on the flats, or sailfish, kingfish, tuna, and sharks offshore, watch up close as your favorites feed on prey, as they strike a lure, or as they do their best to rid themselves of the hook and win heated tugs of war with Capt. Alex and guest anglers on the show.

From fishing charters to angling expedition travel, and even retail fishing tackle sales, Capt. Alex Suescun has been involved in several different aspects of the Sportfishing industry for more than two decades.

Acting as both the Host and the Executive Producer of 'Tarpon Bay Tales" since 1999, Alex carries on  his  vast exploration  of  shallow flats, backcountry bays, and coastlines throughout Florida, its various  neighboring states, and several other more exotic angling destinations. Along the way, he challenges a  variety of  popular inshore and offshore saltwater gamefish species with light tackle every season.

With 9 IGFA World Records to his credit, 5 of them set while taping episodes of the TV show,  Capt. Alex has proven his proficiency with all types of tackle. Whether he's stalking tailing bonefish or redfish on the grass flats, live-baiting for snook along the mangroves, fly-rodding for cruising tarpon, bottom fishing a wreck, or trolling for big game offshore, Alex feels equally at home.

An accomplished outdoor writer and a member of FOWA (Florida Outdoor Writers Association), to date Capt. Alex has contributed more than 250 fishing-related articles and columns to major publications, such as Florida Sportsman, Shallow Water Angler, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Fly Fishing in Saltwater, ESPN's Redfish Nation, The Fisherman, and the Fort Myers News-Press, his hometown newspaper.

Although he resides in Southwest Florida, Alex’s knowledge of gamefish and their habitats extends far beyond his home waters, for not only has he fished up and down the state, but he has also traveled extensively throughout the Gulf Coast, Alaska, the Caribbean, and Central and South America to sample the inshore and the offshore fishing available.

Taking advantage of every opportunity that presents itself to learn, develop or fine-tune different angling techniques, Capt. Alex has compiled a full arsenal of proven tactics he can now pass on to TV viewers to help them catch more of their favorite fish.
